This year, I am thankful for BCNY. BCNY has provided for me over the years. I started BCNY back during the pandemic. Every time after my online classes in school I would always head to online classes in Boys’ club. I learned reading, chess and other skills there. When I started Boys’ club for real back in 2021, I had fears that the other members would not accept me. They welcomed me into the Boys’ club, and I felt safe there.
Boys’ Club has offered many activities such as the game room, games, pool, gym, and STEM. In Boys’ Club I always thought I would not win at anything, yet I still was able to earn a few rewards over the years, and I am very grateful for being appreciated in a room with so many people.
Another thing that I am grateful for about Boys’ Club is that we get so many opportunities. When I was an explorer the staff would always tell me that we pay zero dollars to come to Boys’ Club unlike other places that cost money, and before I never thought about it that way but now, I realize that Boys’ Club has given me so much over the years and all of it was free.
I always never really cared that much of making friends outside of my class or my school, but after I went to bBys’ club, I met a lot of people that I normally wouldn’t talk to if I never went here. Now outside of Boys’ Club or in school other kids from Boys’ club will wave or say hi to me. Therefore, this year. I am grateful for BCNY.
