Diverse and Inclusive Programming that Builds Confidence and Connection
The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) provides diverse and inclusive after school and weekend programming to boys and young men aged 7 to 21 years. All boys are welcome, regardless of zip code, immigration status, or family income.
Our mission is to make high-quality afterschool and weekend programming accessible to all boys in New York City. Our programs are specifically developed to empower young men to feel academically and emotionally competent, connected to their communities, confident, and rich in character.
BCNY’s programming is specifically developed to empower young men and boys as they journey through our clubhouses. All our programs are guided by BCNY’s 4Cs: competent, confident, character-rich, and connected. Whether a boy chooses to be in the art studio, the robotics lab, on stage or on the court, BCNY supports his growth while respecting his agency and empowerment through the 4Cs.

In 145 years of continuous operation, BCNY has positively influenced the lives of over a million young men. BCNY seeks to fulfill its mission to empower boys and young men by providing effective programs and a supportive community with over 40 engaging programs.
104 teen members gained internships. BCNY’s teen training programs include the Work Progress Program, Counselors-in-Training, PeaceLeaders Peer Mentoring, Project Coach, and Teen Tutors.
Our members took 5,177 music lessons in piano, drums, guitar, violin, saxophone, Voice, flute, and bass at BCNY’s Josie Robertson School of Music and Art.
157 members were tutored in math, writing, and ELA. Tutoring is available to BCNY members of all ages!
100% of explorers that participated in Summer Superheroes successfully avoided the “summer slide,” or summer learning loss, thanks to the help of their teen mentors!
780 members participated in STEAM programming in our labs. STEAM programs include robotics, math and science challenges, environmental design, and more.
1,053 members participated in arts programming; including 3D design, dance, animation, cultural arts, photography, graphic design, and studio arts.
150+ members participated in wellness activities and support groups.
618 boys and young men took swimming lessons in our indoor pools. Participants in BCNY’s Learn-to-Swim program gain a critical, life-saving skill, as well as an introduction to aquatic sports.
After learning to cook healthy, nutritious, and delicious meals during BCNY culinary programs, 75% of members felt more comfortable cooking and 80% were now willing try new foods.
224 members learned about civic engagement and representation by participating in Youth Council.
80% of boys in R.E.A.D., BCNY’s early literacy program, improved their reading ability.

330 Juniors and 120 Teens broke down stereotypes during Young Men’s Group and Real Men, BCNY’s masculinity programs.
222 members in 5th grade and above participated in outdoor adventures and explored the wilderness at BCNY’s Harriman Basecamp.
BCNY members had access to over 25 diverse programs in wellness, arts, STEM, sports, and career preparation and support.

We provide over 40 high quality and inclusive afterschool and weekend programs designed to support the growth and empowerment of all New York City boys and young men. From arts and crafts to career prep and PE, members enjoy a variety of engaging, fun activities.
