Wearing t-shirts designed by BCNY alum Samir D., with some also wearing their Chinese lion dance costume, The Boys’ Club community proudly celebrated Lunar New Year with the Flushing community. BCNY members and staff walked the annual Flushing Lunar New Year Parade, organized by the Flushing Chinese Business Association, a non-profit organization that aims to serve the Flushing community, and to carry out activities of culture, art, welfare, education, and business. 

Lunar New Year 2025 

Lunar New Year celebrates the arrival of spring and the start of a new year on the lunisolar calendar, a calendar that combines the lunar cycle with the solar year. An important holiday in China and to many around the world, Lunar New Year is 15-day celebration entailing reunions between immediate and extended family, decorations with red paper and adornments coupled with auspicious wishes for the new year. This year is the year of the snake, according to the Chinese zodiac. We are proud to celebrate such an important holiday with the BCNY community and the larger Flushing community!
