We are proud to announce that BCNY’s Director of Educational and Career Services and co-founder of Latino College Expo, Antonio Aponte, has been awarded the 2024 EL Award from El Diario, the longest-running Spanish-language daily newspaper in the United States!

Dedicating over 30 years to helping boys and young men find the right school for them, Antonio exemplifies the award, which honors exceptional voices within the Hispanic community who have made a positive contribution and serve as role models to a new generation.   

Antonio has and continues to be a role model and mentor for so many boys and young men. He reflected, “Going to boarding school through the Independent School Placement Program at BCNY made me realize that the work in providing and exposing young people to positive experiences is priceless. All my experiences are an example of the power and transformative moment that can occur if you give a chance to our youth.”
