Frederick Joseph

New York Times bestselling author and poet, Frederick Joseph paid Boys’ Club a visit in East Harlem on Thursday, May 9th. Members gathered with Frederick for powerful poem readings, where members shared their very own pieces.  

Exploring BCNY

Frederick Joseph also explored the clubhouse, visiting its hydroponics lab, pool, gymnasium, game rooms, music and arts studios. He learned that a day in the life of a Boys’ Club member is filled with choice, discovery and amazing programs that are all free and for any boy or young man aged 7-21.  

Resources for our Boys

Frederick shared with us that “the world does not understand the importance of resources for boys, especially boys of color” and how supporting programs like these where boys and young men can explore the full range of their potential outside the confines of gender norms is connected to supporting equity for all.
