Archon John Gidicsin and his sons, BCNY alumni James and John Jr. with Alex on Thanksgiving 2021.

BCNY is proud to announce Harriman Clubhouse alumnus and active Abbe member, Alexander L. was Tonsured this fall. Here is a note from Alex:

“I would like to share with the BCNY Community that I was Tonsured to the Office of Reader, by His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory of Nyssa on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church at 288 East 10th Street (across the street from the former BCNY Harriman Clubhouse).

Being Tonsured is the beginning of a journey toward serving God, my Church, and my community.

I am BCNY: Character Rich, Competent, Confident and Connected.”

Alex and his Great Uncle, Fred Polik (85 years old) celebrate their birthdays together. Great Uncle Fred is a BCNY Harriman Clubhouse alumnus.

Alex is an avid member, dedicated to generations of BCNY community.  We were heartened by Alex’s visit to recently passed alumnus, Archon John Gidicsin. Alex brought John BCNY goodies and cheer last Thanksgiving and spent time with his sons, BCNY alumni James and John Jr. Alex’s journey through the clubhouses and beyond demonstrates BCNY’s 4Cs: Character-richness, connection, confidence, and competence.

BCNY is honored to watch generations of members form lasting bonds and friendships and we send our love and condolences to the Gidicsin family and all of John’s loved ones. Together, we are BCNY.
