Every day during Homework Help at Gerry Clubhouse, explorers Elijah and Anderson sit and work together. The pair sounds out words when one of them is struggling with spelling and encourages each other to work out math problems when one of them thinks it’s too hard. “The boys are in the same class at school, but they wouldn’t have the opportunity to learn from each other if they couldn’t do their homework here together and instead had to do it at home without each other to act as cheerleaders,” says Education Program Coordinator Maria Lopez.
